From Bullying to Emily & Poppy
Author and Illustrator Alexandra Stubbs endured bullying as a child due to challenges with Dyslexia. Her parents’ ability to lovingly focus on solutions instead of the “problem” instilled in Alex the power to overcome and inspired Emily & Poppy. It is her passion to share this Love and the role family has to play throughout the world.
Alexandra Stubbs was born in Houston, Texas, in 1989. She writes and illustrates books for the children and young adult market. Her book series emphasizes that family must become the primary place where Love is transferred.
The book series uses the anime style a super cute, cheerful, widely recognizable style of art. Some of the subjects covered in the book series are: bullying, condemnation, sadness, resentment, love, hope and revelation.
Her Path consists of fourteen years in development, this series has taken Alexandra into the paths of so many wonderful people and special places around the world that she never imagined possible.
Alexandra, a homeschooled student for 12 years, is currently working on her sixth book. Her goal in writing the series is to help everyone love our Lord with all our hearts, with passion and all our strength. She is honored to be a member of the Houston Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
Alexandra will come to your school, hospital, camp (and more!) for a live presentation tailored to the age group. Younger children love to watch and listen as she draws Emily & Poppy and tells a story. Older children love how she involves them in the conversation as she reveals a story relevant to them. Her passion and love shines through to all.
